All my gold in jewelry box has tarnished, why?
Sep 24, 2008
All my gold jewelry has tarnished. I put pieces of chalk in each drawer to keep the moisture out. I cleaned a pair of earings with baking soda and it worked. Do you know an easier and faster way?
Answer: There is something wrong here. Silver tarnishes, Iron rusts. Gold does not tarnish, rust, or otherwise oxidize. It can get dirty, but I don't know what has crud up your jewelry box.

Answer: Chalk & baking soda? One does not use baking soda on jewelry. Go to Wal*Mart or another department store, & purchase a jar of jewelry cleaner that is made for gold.
Answer: You could take them to the jewelers, but you'd have to pay for them to clean them.
