Ok so I have two questions, first of all i have been allergic to metal and usually can only purchase only gold and silver for earings. But i love costume jewelry and my ears itch and burn when i wear them for too long. How can i wear them, but stop the breaking out. Is it bad that i do this. And my second question is, what makes your finger turn green when you wear fake rings?

Other metals you can probably wear are niobium, titanium, and surgical stainless steel. If your earrings are dangle, you can put them on wires made of one of those metals; then you can wear whatever costume earrings you want. If the earrings are posts, you could coat the posts and the back of the earrings with clear nail polish. Fingers turn green from rings that have copper. Black is from sterling silver. Neither of those is a great metal for someone with metal allergies.

heyy ok im allergic to fake jewelry also which sucks. if you were wearing costume jewelry i would state to wear it for a few hours but not any longer because its bad for you skin. i wear costume jewelry a lot but i take it off/out after a couple of hours. im not sure if there is a product you can use to help stop the burning. you can also never go wrong with sterling silver jewelry. im not really sure about the skin turning green. i think its just the fake metals rubbing against your skin and reacting with them

I can't wear costume earrings either. It's ideal not to because it looks pretty gross to have infected ears. If you insist on wearing them, at least look for some that state “hypo allergenic”…they should be a tiny better. Also, take them off as soon as you get home, and maybe only wear them once or twice a week. You should also try rubbing Neosporin on the posts beforeyo put them in your ears. I don't know why fake rings turn your fingers green, but I DO know that authentic gold can do it too. I was told that it is just your body's chemical reaction. I have had it happen with a gold ring that I wore for years…and then it didn't happen again.

idk the finger thing but i no for a fact that u shouldnt use earings cuz at scool u dont want to get emmbaressed in front of everybody that u turned all weird so i recommend that u dont use costume earrings.but u should use some adorable real jewelry it will be so freaken cute!!!

Try to find earrings that are “sensitive solutions” it will usually state it on the tiny package. The ring will turn your finger green if its not sterling silver.
