I’m going to gauge my ears, is it possible to go from a 14 gauge to a 10 gauge, without the 12 in between?

I'm too poor to afford jewelry, but I have a friend who is allowing me to use hers. She does not have a 12 though. The smallest she has is a 10. Put the pain aside, could i go straight from a 14 to a 10?
Answer: You can do it, yes. But then you risk blowing out the holes. Which is gross, and extremely painful.
I went from a 14 to a 10 no problem though, it burned… But other then that no problems.
Also, if you gauge higher, wait until your ears no longer hurt to go up a size. Otherwise again, you risk blowing the holes.
Answer: you want to STRETCH your ears. gauge refers to the thickness of the wire, not the actual process of stretching them.
can you skip sizes? who knows. my ears are not your ears and your ears are not your friends ears. for that exact reason, no, you shouldnt skip sizes. you never quite know how your ear is going to react, so its ideal to do things by the book to avoid having to go to the doctor cause you got some gross infection or a blowout
Answer: I dont think so. Think of it as weightlifting. The first day you lift ten pounds, the next 200. the safest route would be to find someone wo has a 12 and borrowing that
