So I'm a sophmore and my boyfriend is a junior, so I get to go to prom this year! I already know the dress that I want. It is at Deb and it is only $89. I want shoes and jewelry too. How do I convince her to give me money to pay for it cause she is kinda a hard ***. I was thinking that I could make her a cake or something. Any ideas?

Answer:
First explain to her nicely. Be like “Mom, this prom only comes once in my life, why would you want me to miss it?” If that doesn't work try to work a deal with her. Tell her to pay for the dress and you will pay for the shoes. If that doesn't work make her a cake and write “Will you pay for prom for me.” Instead of will you go to prom with me hahaha. Hope you go to prom and hope you get your preety dress :)

Answer:
One way would be to pay for part or half of the dress. Another way you might be able to have her pay for it is find another dress! This sounds weird since you might have your heart set on this one dress, but there are probably millions more dresses out there that are still formal, yet you can wear them outside of a gala event. Finding a dress that can serve multiple purposes (i.e. prom and maybe a party dress for later) would probably persuade her more than a cake would.

Answer:
Well don't give her a speech. I’m a mom and hate speeches. If my children need something, they just ask me. Just tell her its a prom dress that you want to get.
How about giving her a list of extra chores that you’ll do? Or something that’ll benefit HER. Maybe do her laundry and yes, make her dinner or bake a cake.
If this is for prom, your mother really shouldn't have a problem. Proms are a once in a lifetime thing. But if she is a tight wad like you stated, extra work on getting her to budge might make it happen.

Answer:
Do more chores or something that she does everyday that she hates doing, like work from her job or something.

Answer:
you can offer to pay for part.
