2)Flowers in your hair. No flowers? Go for pocahontas headband. Hair is long “unkempt looking”
3) Handcrafted jewelery
4) I'd like to think hippies are peace loving people who do not praise their lifestyles andcut down others on their choice of lifestyle.
A hippie is some one that respects the earth and doesn't harm but gives love.
Being a hippie isn't about the way you dress, it's about what you believe in.
Being a hippie is all in your attitude. Hippies seem to take on the role of a mother; they look after people, are good listeners, and are always there for you. They know that love, peace, and understanding is the answer.
Must have an open mind, love your neighbor, be gentle and giving
hippies are the most honest, truthful, frank, caring, brave people you can ever meet. everybody is their race, everybody is their family: the human race. i've often brought friends together for “family discussions” where we put all distortions aside. no lies, no fighting, just put everything out on the table. it takes a little bit of getting used to, but hippies make the ideal friends.
it's all about peace, hope and love. And sure…it has nothing to do with how you dress and the way you look. It's all about the ideal…And these ideals fought for in the 60's have been passed down to us(I am 30). So let's pick them up, dust them off, and carry them with dignity and hope
being your self and letting every thing else be as it will
Here is an example of a recent outfit from Mischa Barton: http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u214/…
2. They dress again, in a carefree, natural way, with peace sign necklaces, fringe, flowy blouses, flared trouser pants, maxi dresses, tie dye, forehead headbands, and etc.
Here are a few examples of how hippies in the 1960's dressed:

3. For jewelry, hippies simply and plainly piled it on to the extreme. Wear long beaded necklaces or chains and pile 3 or 4 on at a time. Again, peace sign necklaces were hippie's main accessory, so definitely have a couple necklaces with the peace sign, as well as bracelets.
4. Hippies acted laid back and casual wherever they went. Most of the time they traveled barefoot and that right there proves just how laid back and down-to-Earth they were.
…so check out the links below.
As per “acting,” hippies were generally very mellow and “slow” talking. They were all about peace, love, and equality.
Signs that say “Make Love, Not War” or “Give Peace a Chance” were prominent.
2. Stuff that flows, flower prints, tye dye, thick clogs, flare jeans.
3. Peace sign necklace, circular sunglasses, beads.
4. Peace sign, talking mellow.
Hope I helped? ahha. I tried my best.
