Can I go into a jewelers and sell my jewelery? If so would they give me what its worth or rip me off?

Answer:
Many high-street jewelers are 'chains' and retail what their head-office sends. They may not purchase jewelery from individuals. Smaller jewelers may be willing to buy

Answer:
Most will not but it can't injured to try. There are so many tricks in the business that jewelers would be taking a risk by taking on something that they don't know much about. Fake stones and cheap metal alloys are two of the hazards. They'd also have to later turn around and sell it, so what they give you would likely be much less than the price you paid. Pawn stores and Ebay are other options for you.

Answer:
Hi, yes, you would be able to sell your jewelry at most jewelers. You generally lose 10 to 30% of value, sometimes more. That's because gemstones deteriorate and chip (break) with age, usage etc.

I recently went to Ahalya of Rasvihar with a pile of my locker jewelry, old boring hand-me-down stuff. In this case, I wasn't looking to sell but to repurpose it. She spent about an hour with me, asked useful questions and then recommended that I should retain the good stuff. So then I left with her about half of what I had brought with me and had it repurposed by her. Within about 3 weeks she had done a great job and I'm delighted. I've got some pretty pieces to wear.

Well it cost me some serious money but then someone talented like Ahalya doesn't come cheap n she salvaged most of my stuff.

Hope this helps :-)
