There are a ton of differently shaped and sized diamonds out there. My wedding band is composed of 16 small round diamonds and one large diamond right in the middle. I know that they aren't just found perfectly shaped and sized, so what do they look like before they're made into jewelry?

Answer:
If you pick up a rock on the ground, a diamond will be similar in shape to that. Of course it'll be a tiny more diamond-y, but it nearly looks like quartz. Shaping up a diamond is a difficult process. You have to use either a laser or other diamonds to cut it. I think I saw on the History Channel that smaller diamonds are cut with a laser and bigger diamonds are cut by hand. They're then polished to give them a great shine.

Answer:
They look like dirty rocks. Normal rocks you'd see every day. That's why they are so expensive, because it's hard work to find them and clean-cut them. but they last forever and they're beautifull!!
