You don’t need to get it appraised, but obviously as it is a Diamond ring, getting a certificate from jewellery store confirming the value of the items and what it is made of, will go in your favour. Cost for this certificate is around £25 ($50) per item. Try to also include what stamp mark is on the inside of the ring. For example: 15ct and hallmarked .375.

Final tip: When taking a picture of your ring, try display it on a contrasting background. For example: place ring around real acorn, or a piece of bark, or amongst pebbles. Very effective!
